Charlie Rose Sued by 3 CBS Staffers for Sexual Harassment

Their lawsuit, filed in New York State Supreme Court on Friday, alleges that the three women were subject to "blatant and repeated sexual harassment" by the former CBS anchor, and then suffered "subsequent unlawful retaliation".

The plaintiffs in Friday's lawsuit - Katherine Harris, Sydney McNeal and Yuqing Wei - worked in different capacities for Rose previous year while he was a co-host for CBS This Morning, according to the complaint.

Rose fired Harris and McNeal following last year's Post story, and CBS did not offer them new positions, the lawsuit said.

"We will vigorously defend against the allegations pertaining to CBS News and Mr. Kadro", a CBS spokesperson said in a statement. A new investigation by The Washington Post brought to the public's attention an additional 27 women, who say Rose behaved improperly towards them.

"Ms. Wei also told Mr. Kadro words to the effect of, 'I'm telling you in case you have a lawsuit on your hands, '" the suit alleges.

The lawsuit alleges that "CBS This Morning" Executive Producer Ryan Kadro "knew that Mr". McNeal, who became his executive assistant a year ago, said he had inappropriately touched them and repeatedly made sexual remarks. Both Harris and McNeal lost their jobs after Rose's PBS show was canceled in the wake of the Post's reporting. Rose his job as a host [VIDEO] of "CBS This Morning" and an on-the-scene reporter for "60 Minutes". Harris left CBS last April to work for Rose directly at PBS, where the third plaintiff, Sydney McNeal, also worked as one of his assistants. CBS "did not investigate the complaint, and did not take any remedial action", the lawsuit alleges. All of the women say he would repeatedly caress and touch their bodies, including their arms, shoulders, waists and backs. Rose reportedly called her "China Doll". Wei filed an HR complaint, and was subsequently moved to a different assignment. The newspaper also reported that CBS managers were warned of Rose's conduct at least three times over a period of 30 years.

The California Department of Public Health confirmed the death but would not provide more details, citing patient privacy laws. With Kentucky, Massachusetts, and Utah now reporting cases, the number of states affected now stands at 25.

CBS News did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The woman said she complained to PBS management and was told that Rose was harmless.

The women include a broadcast associate, a news associate and Rose's executive assistant. She is now on medical leave, according to the suit.

Goldberg said he first reached out to CBS and Rose in February to make them aware of the potential claims.

Eleanor McManus, co-founder of Press Forward, a group of women who have been victims of sexual misconduct in newsrooms, said the Post report illustrated a systematic problem across news organizations that needed to be addressed.

The network sacked Rose, once one of America's most well-respected television news hosts, on November 21, less than 24 hours after eight women leveled sexual harassment accusations against him in The Washington Post.
