Harvey Weinstein accused of rape in new class-action lawsuit

"Weinstein held Thompson down and raped her. Thompson closed her eyes, traumatized, praying for the assault to end".

Harvey Weinstein was facing a new rape allegation on Friday, including claims that a woman captured video of Weinstein assaulting her, as part of a lawsuit alleging that he had help covering up his misconduct with women.

There, he exposed himself, invited her to shower with him and importuned her to give him a massage, the complaint says.

"Deceptive tactics were used to entice her to turn over her visual and audio evidence of Weinstein's conduct (which she did)", it said.

The lawsuit is the third class action suit filed against Weinstein by Hagens Berman since late past year.

Almost 100 women have now accused Weinstein of crimes ranging from sexual harassment to assault and rape going back decades.

They are suing Weinstein - as well as Miramax and The Weinstein Company - for assault, battery and racketeering.

Will Power has won the Indianapolis 500 , giving the 37-year-old Australian his biggest victory on IndyCar's grandest stage. Power led for 59 of the 200 laps while stomping out his main racing demon.

The lawsuit reportedly names Weinstein, board members from his now-defunct production company and the Miramax film company as defendants. Weinstein has denied sexually assaulting anyone.

Following his arrest last week, Weinstein was released on $1 million bail and is required to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet.

"Harvey Weinstein may have been put in handcuffs for his assault on two women, but we are working to see a day of justice for the hundreds of women who were exploited for Weinstein's sexual gratification and silenced by this ring of conspirators", Elizabeth Fegan, an attorney who worked on Friday's lawsuit, said, according to The Associated Press.

After news broke of Weinstein's string of sexual accusers in October 2017, Thompson "was led to believe that Brafman and Spiro were representing victims against Weinstein", according to the plaintiffs' lawyers.

The third woman, Larissa Gomes, says the former media mogul "chased her around the room" at a hotel in Toronto.

Melissa Thompson, the primary woman in the suit, claims she was referred to Benjamin Brafman's law firm, the main attorney-at-law for the embattled Hollywood executive.
