LaMarcus Aldridge Kawhi Leonard: Celtics to trade for LA instead?

According to a separate ESPN report, the Lakers are feeling increased pressure to make a deal for Leonard happen as Paul George and LeBron James have progressively murky futures ahead of free agency, which begins Sunday.

If Los Angeles Lakers fans are monitoring where LeBron James' 13-year-old son is enrolling in school as an indicator of where the elder James may end up this summer, they are probably getting quite excited.

As you might recall, Wojnarowski reported earlier this month that Boston made an offer to San Antonio for Leonard ahead of the National Basketball Association trade deadline in February. However, he needs the Spurs, who reportedly don't want to trade Leonard within the Western Conference, to play ball. He's also strongly hinted that he wants to sign with the Lakers when he hits free agency next season, so he could be an expensive one-year rental for whomever wins the Kawhi sweepstakes.

The team at the top of Leonard's list is reportedly the Los Angeles Lakers.

It also calls him "insubordinate" for not alerting then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch to his plans to say publicly that Clinton would not be charged in the case.

What exactly would that offer be?

If Los Angeles gets Leonard, that'd open the door for LeBron. The Lakers could have to surrender a combination of former first-round picks - from Ingram, Kyle Kuzma and Josh Hart - and future first-round picks and perhaps restricted free agent Julius Randle in a sign-and-trade agreement.

The possibility of the Spurs looking at an Aldridge trade to follow a Kawhi deal was first raised on Bill Simmons' podcast this week, with guest Kevin O'Connor.

Per ESPN.com's Adrian Wojnarowski, Brian Windhorst and Ramona Shelburne, the Spurs have had trade discussions with the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers and LA Clippers. Boston's ability to offer San Antonio future draft picks and promising young players, along with their location in the East, might make the Celtics the Spurs' ideal trade partner.
