Demi Lovato still 'very, very sick' and suffering 'complications'

In her YouTube documentary released previous year called Demi Lovato, Simply Complicated, she openly discusses her cocaine use and battles with alcohol.

The actor was said to be "shocked" after learning about his former flame's apparent overdose and appeared sombre while at the hospital visiting her. "Her mother is by her side", the source continued.

Despite being in the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Califoria, for six days, the "Sorry Not Sorry" singer has not been discharged due to various "complications", according to TMZ.

According to the source, the plan is to get Lovato into treatment when she's released from the hospital.

The touching scene took place just before ET learned that Lovato's team had staged an intervention for her roughly a month ago, where they encouraged her to enter a rehabilitation program, but a source said she refused to take their concerns seriously, leading to her hospitalization this week.

Last week it was reported that Lovato's overdose symptoms were so severe, her life was in danger. There is no need for negativity towards the ones who care about Demi at this time.

Lovato remains in the hospital, and Montgomery wrote that he will "miss hearing my best friend's laugh, maybe my favorite sound in the world". "Her family has been by her side supporting her and is getting her the help she needs". The doctors overseeing Demi's recovery have not decided when she'll be released from the hospital, but the news isn't all bad.

"Demi wasn't doing well over the weekend", a source tells People.

Just this past March, Lovato announced she was celebrating six years of sobriety. TMZ characterized her as still being "very, very sick".
