Nike, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Endorse Colin Kaepernick on Same Day

The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback began kneeling during the playing of the national anthem as a way to peacefully protest police brutality and racial inequality in America.

Trump said the players disrespected the American flag and the military, and has said he would love to see National Football League owners fire players who disrespected the flag.

Nike revealed, through ESPN's Darren Rovell, that it is making Colin Kaepernick the face of its "Just Do It" 30th anniversary ad campaign. Now, he's the face of Nike's 30th anniversary "Just Do It" campaign. Kaepernick sat or kneeled during the anthem throughout the 2016 season and launched a movement of athletes doing the same.

Neil Simon Dead - Famed Playwright Passes Away at 91
Not only did he have award-winning plays, but he also earned four Academy Award nominations, four Emmys, and 17 Tony nominations. Playwright Neil Simon accepts the 2006 Mark Twain Prize at the Kennedy Center in Washington, on October 15, 2006.

Last week, Kaepernick scored a legal victory in his grievance against the NFL and its 32 teams when an arbitrator denied the league's request to throw out the quarterback's claims that owners conspired to keep him out of the league because of his protests of social injustice. Nike is the official team apparel supplier to the NFL. Simple and to the point, the spot features a close up of Kaepernick overlaid with text reading "Believe in something". Forever a trailblazer and a man who stands for what he believes in, Kaepernick opted out of his contract with the 49ers and became a free agent after the 2016 season. That debate led the National Football League to implement new rules that would punish similar protests, a move seemingly made to appease President Trump, but they were eventually rolled back. She did not respond to questions about the latest ad campaign.

Kaepernick's protests - accompanied by fashion statements like "pig cop" socks - have drawn the ire of President Trump, who has repeatedly criticisms kneelers over the past year, labeling them "sons of bitches" who should be fired.

The new ad also continues a wave of goodwill for Nike and athlete controversies; they got Twitter talking with this ad featuring Serena Williams a few weeks ago.
