Third Moon-Kim summit to be held September 18-20: envoy

"Chairman Kim. expressed frustration over the doubt shown by some parts of the global society about his will", national security adviser Chung Eui-yong said.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on Wednesday invited President Moon Jae-in for another summit in Pyongyang on September 18-20.

President Trump tweeted Thursday morning, "Kim Jong Un of North Korea proclaims 'unwavering faith in President Trump.' Thank you to Chairman Kim".

Chung also said that Kim has asked him to deliver a message to US President Donald Trump.

Chief of the national security office at Seoul's presidential Blue House Chung Eui-yong meets with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Pyongyang, North Korea September 5, 2018.

South Korean officials told reporters earlier today that Kim wants to continue the negotiations he and the USA have engaged in since the summit in Singapore.

Pyongyang is believed to be demanding a quid pro quo for its denuclearization steps that many believe include a formal end to the Korean War.

The Ivorian legend is now a free agent after a Premier League career which has seen him win the league on three occasions. Olympiakos finished third in the Greek league last season and are keen for a quick return to the top.

Chung said Kim showed "frustration over the doubt raised by some parts of the global community about his willingness to denuclearise, and asked us to convey his message to the United States". "He made that clear", Chung said, according to the news agency. "It seems that the North wants the South Korean government well aware of its intentions to persuade the U.S.in order to advance the overall process", Koh pointed out. Trump abruptly cancelled U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's planned visit to Pyongyang last month, citing a lack of progress in the talks.

The South Korean envoy's visit to Pyongyang came amid a deadlock on the North's atomic weapons, with USA efforts to dismantle the arsenal stalled for weeks.

"He said he's pre-emptively taken steps necessary for denuclearization and wants to see these goodwill measures being met with goodwill measures", added Chung, who met with Kim in Pyongyang on Wednesday.

Chung quoted Kim as saying that two-thirds of each tunnel at the Punggye-ri nuclear weapons testing site had collapsed, rendering the tunnels permanently unusable. "Chairman Kim especially stressed that he has never talked negatively about President Trump to his staff or anyone else. There have been no nuclear tests or missile tests... but work on making the strategic shift continues", Pompeo said on a visit to New Delhi. Kim wants to sign a treaty first, but American officials fear that he's after a propaganda win and will use the peace treaty to press for the removal of almost 30,000 USA troops in South Korea. "Also, they will draw up practical ways to establish lasting peace and to ensure joint prosperity, especially through the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula". Kim said he'd take "more active" measures toward denuclearization if his moves are met with corresponding goodwill measures, Chung said.

While an end-of-war declaration wouldn't imply a legally binding peace treaty, experts say it could create political momentum that would make it easier for North Korea to steer the discussions toward a peace regime, diplomatic recognition, economic benefits and security concessions.

Another professor, Kim Joon-hyung of Handong University, found it significant that Kim did not link his Korean War peace treaty proposal to the removal of US troops from the Korean peninsula.
