Kavanaugh Denies Second Sexual Misconduct Allegation

Ramirez is calling for an FBI investigation of her claim.

Exact details of Thursday's scheduled hearing before the Judiciary Committee are still being worked out.

That response seemed a setback to Ford supporters' efforts to corroborate her claim. "We should look into the lawyers doing the representation". They noted that other witnesses are "essential for a fair hearing".

The tentative accord could close days of brinkmanship over whether Ford would testify.

"One week ago, Dr. Christine Ford claimed she was assaulted at a house party attended by four others".

Ford says an inebriated Kavanaugh pinned her on a bed, muffled her cries and tried removing her clothes when both were teenagers in the 1980s.

But since then, another portrait has emerged of the man who, if confirmed, would solidify the rightward tilt of the country's top court - that of a hard partying, heavy drinking student who two women say sexually assaulted or harassed them, one while in high school and the other in college.

Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley, a Republican, wrangled with Ms Ford's lawyers for the last week over the exact terms of her appearance.

Also unclear is what day she might come to Capitol Hill and whether she's offering to speak in a public session or a private one.

Orrin Hatch slammed Democrats Monday for "partisan games and transparent attempts at character assassination" against U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

On Saturday night, her lawyer, Howard Walsh, released a statement to CNN and the Senate Judiciary Committee.

"We were told no decision has been made on this important issue, even though various senators have been dismissive of her account and should have to shoulder their responsibility to ask her questions", the attorneys for Ms Ford said.

He had graduated from prestigious Yale University, where his most recent accuser said he exposed himself to her during a drunken party. Moreover, another witness, a lifelong friend of Ford's, not only can not remember the house party, she says she has never met Kavanaugh.

The accusations have wrong-footed Republican senators who had hoped to push through his confirmation as quickly as possible, and who have sought to portray the charges as a politically motivated ploy by the Democrats to smear the judge.

"This is another serious, credible, and disturbing allegation against Brett Kavanagh".

The vice president says the way that some Democrats have conducted themselves during the confirmation process "is a disgrace and a disservice to the Senate and the American people".

Republican Jason Miller, a former Trump spokesman and freshly disappeared CNN contributor, is now denying allegations in a court filing that he slipped an abortion pill into a mistress's drink.

Kavanaugh said in a statement, "This alleged event from 35 years ago did not happen".

Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, is shrugging off responsibility for the extension onto the Senate's Democratic leader, Chuck Schumer. "I feel like I'm playing 2nd trombone in the judiciary orchestra and Schumer is the conductor", Grassley wrote in a separate tweet.

"Moreover, a person who has committed sexual assault should not serve on the Supreme Court".

"Simply put, Ms. Keyser does not know Mr. Kavanagh and she has no recollection of ever being at a party or gathering where he was present, with, or without, Dr. Ford.", Keyser's lawyer Howard J Walsh who communicated with the committee on behalf of Keyser.

They could also use Republican staff attorneys on the committee. They include Kavanaugh's friend, Mike Judge, who Ford says was in the room when the alleged sexual attack occurred.
