The Debate - Trump Humiliating Saudi Arabia

According to sources from both Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, one of the key points of contention was the resumption of oil production in the Partitioned Neutral Zone which was...

Saudi and Turkish officials have made conflicting statements on the whereabouts of a prominent journalist who has reportedly gone missing while visiting the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. "We believe that all the armaments we have from the United States of America are paid for, it's not free armament", he said. "Given the Saudi authorities' pattern of quietly detaining critical journalists, Khashoggi's failure to emerge from the Saudi consulate on the day he entered is a cause for alarm", said the CPJ's Sherif Mansour.

The Committee to Protect Journalists called the situation "a cause for alarm", while Lynn Maalouf, Middle East research director at Amnesty International, called on the Saudi authorities to prove that Khashoggi left the consulate as they have claimed.

"We export as much as two barrels for any barrel that disappeared from Iran recently", Prince Mohammed said. His friends said police officers reviewed video surveillance in the area and didn't Khashoggi leave the embassy.

"Ever since the relationship started between Saudi Arabia and the United States of America, we've bought everything with money", he told Bloomberg in an interview.

"He has not been heard from since he entered the Consulate General of Saudi Arabia in Istanbul".

US Sec of State to meet N. Korea's Kim on Sunday
On domestic affairs, Kim said her party would mainly work on issues related to employment, real estate and small businesses. In recent weeks, North Korea has demanded nearly daily that the United States sign an end-of-war declaration.

Previously an adviser to senior Saudi officials, Mr Khashoggi moved overseas after his Saudi newspaper column was cancelled and he was allegedly warned to stop tweeting his criticisms of the crown prince's policies.

"His criticism, voiced over the past year, most surely rankles Mohammed bin Salman, who was elevated to crown prince last year and has carried out a wide-ranging campaign to silence dissent while trying to modernize the kingdom", the Post editorial read.

But Saudi Arabia claimed he had entered and then left the mission on Tuesday.

In January 2016, Saudi authorities executed Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr, an outspoken critic of the policies of the Riyadh regime.

The Saudi journalist had raised questions about the state of human rights and freedom of expression in the Gulf kingdom. In fact, President Trump chose to visit Saudi Arabia for his maiden worldwide trip as president previous year.

Last week Trump asked at a rally "when you have wealthy countries like Saudi Arabia, like Japan, like South Korea, why are we subsidizing their military?"
