Usain Bolt fumes over drug test notice

The 100 metres world record-holder scored his first two goals in professional football on Friday when he started a pre-season game against second-tier Macarthur South West United in Sydney.

Bolt, who retired from athletics a year ago, scored twice on his first Mariners start in Friday's friendly against Macarthur South West, but then reacted quizzically to receiving the drugs test notice on Monday.

But it appears Bolt's unique situation comes under the Australia's anti-doping authority (Asada) testing protocol as athletes may be subject to collection both in and out of competition.

Valletta FC, a team based in Malta, is said to be open to signing the superstar athlete, with managing director and CEO Ghasston Slimen recently admitting a deal is possible.

Usain Bolt's new career in football/soccer is about to take off big.

"I've retired from track and field, working to become a footballer, but look at this: How am I going to get a drug test today?"

Again - Threatens to Send Military to US-Mexico Border
Bush deployed the National Guard to assist in border security operations in 2006 and President Barack Obama did the same in 2010. NBC reports that USA officials are now tracking that small group as they make progress towards the US.

Reigning Maltese champions Valletta FC have made a play to prematurely end Bolt's open-ended Mariners trial.

That has led to rumors of interest from Maltese champions Valletta FC, with the club reportedly keen to sign the world's fastest man as they bid to break into the Champions League.

A Mariners spokesman said there was no change in Bolt's position at the club, describing reports that he might quit his trial as "rumours". Despite not being a professional footballer, Bolt is officially registered with Central Coast Mariners and by the guidelines of Asada, is eligible to be tested.

"It's very much, the ball in the Mariners' court", Gallop told Macquarie Sports Radio.

Football Federation Australia Chief Executive David Gallop ruled that out Monday, saying the organization doesn't "want to compromise" what the league's marquee fund is there for, which is to attract proven world-class players.

The 100m world record-holder quit athletics previous year and is yet to be offered a deal by Australia's Central Coast Mariners, where he is now on trial.
