Raheem Sterling wants to keep fans singing at the Etihad

Raheem Sterling hopes to give the Manchester City fans plenty more reason to chant his name after starring in Sunday's demolition of Southampton.

The crowd revelled in his performance and their praise was not lost on the 23-year-old.

City doubled their advantage after another six minutes as Sterling carved his way into the area and squared for Aguero to stab home another landmark goal, one that also took him joint-eighth along with Michael Owen in the Premier League's all-time top scorers' list.

However, they got an almighty helping hand by referee Viktor Kassai in their Champions League clash against Shakhtar on Wednesday night. And considering the form of their neighbours this season, Guardiola and his goal-hungry strike force may be eyeing another big score.

Manchester City hardly need help to win football matches these days, do they?

Guardiola said: "We've had just three days for regeneration and they've had one week to prepare, so it will be a tough, tough game". "It's a massive week ahead, starting with Shakhtar".

City were rampant against Saints and all but wrapped up the game inside the opening 18 minutes. Sterling struck twice either side of the break and then passed up a hat-trick chance by teeing up Leroy Sane's late sixth.

"I thought it was a great team performance".

China leads the way as world's billionaires get even richer
These mega-rich increased their wealth by a $1.4 trillion which is more than the entire GDP of Spain or Australia. Worldwide, total billionaire wealth rose 19% to a record $8.9tn, shared among 2,158 individuals.

City's fourth came just before the interval as Aguero kept the ball in play at the byline and picked out Sterling.

Pedro added the third goal from a left-wing cross by another Spaniard, Marcos Alonso, in the 72nd as Chelsea moved on to the same points tally as Liverpool, two behind City.

"We were lucky to score the fourth goal at the end of the first half otherwise the second half would be hard". To play with these players under this coach is a really good feeling and everyone can see we enjoy it all together, playing with each other. That is what it is at this top level. That is the most important thing.

He said: "This season we spent less and next season maybe one player we are going to buy, no more than that".

The two sides previously faced one another in a group stage fixture on October 23. Most recently, the club beat Dynamo Kyiv 2-1 in the Ukranian Premier League, where Shakhtar Donetsk is in first place with a 12-1-1 record and 37 points accumulated.

He said: "I have not been anxious at all".

"It is hard to put the game in words".

"We take responsibility for what we do, take it on the chin and grow with it".
