More lake effect snow coming this week

The mixed rain and snow showers are expected to become all snow after 7:00 p.m. Thursday night with the low temperature dropping down to around 30 degrees. Rain chances will also begin to increase across our area from southwest to northeast.

On Thursday it will be mostly dry but cloudy with sunny spells as temperatures head towards 63F (17C). Winds will be out of the east-northeast between 5 and 10 miles per hour.

Meteorologists say fair weather is expected to settle back across our part of the country Tuesday night through Wednesday night.

Temperatures are expected to gradually warm the rest of the week, reaching the mid 50s by Friday. Expect mostly cloudy skies with widespread rain and strong winds. Be sure to grab a coat out-the-door, as wind chills are now in the 20's and the breeze continues from the northwest.

Raptors destroy LeBron's Lakers even without Kawhi in the lineup
Ibaka has reached double digits in points in 10 straight games, before fouling out at the nine minute mark of the fourth quarter. Which of the two games Leonard sits out remains to be determined as the team and superstar will discuss at Saturday's practice.

Wednesday will be another December-like day with sunshine and increasing high clouds in the afternoon.

TODAY: Bitterly cold. Breezy with a few clouds in the morning, then sunny and cold. Breezy, with a south wind 9 to 14 miles per hour increasing to 16 to 21 miles per hour in the morning. Tuesday, winds will shift to the north, bring in colder air. Less amounts/duration south. I will caution that the exceptions would be the valleys (like in Meade/Hardin Counties) where cold air may get trapped near freezing a bit longer and therefore a bit more icing. Low: 38. High: 64.

Sunny, with a high near 54. At the moment, there is very little signal for wintry conditions, with any snow more likely to be confined to higher ground'. Wind: S 5-10 miles per hour.
