Bomb strikes tourist bus near Egypt's Giza Pyramids

Two tourists killed, ten others were injured in a tourist bus explosion in Marioteya district, near Giza governorate on Friday.

The interior ministry said the bus was hit by an explosion from an improvised device hidden near a wall on Marioutiya street at around 6:15 pm local time (1615 GMT) near the Giza Pyramids.

The Islamic State group have claimed responsibility for Friday night's attacks in Paris, Thursdays's twin powerful suicide bombings that tore through a crowded Shiite neighbourhood of Beirut, and bringing down a Russian jetliner over Egypt's Sinai region earlier this month.

The bus hit the device after it went off its planned route without alerting security forces, Mr Madbouly added.

Two Egyptians, including the bus driver, are among the injured, according to the ministry.

Michael Fish's NBC26 Storm Shield weather forecast
Highs will top out in the low-40s, but the temps will oddly continue to rise as we head through the night. Accumulation appears light across the Front Range at 1-3 inches, but prepare for a snowy morning commute.

Police are investigating, the statement said.

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi told visiting Vietnamese leaders in May that he was keen to revive Vietnamese tourism in his country, according to Egypt Today.

But that figure was still far short of the record influx in 2010 when over 14 million visitors flocked see the country's sites.

More than 450 suspected militants and around 30 Egyptian soldiers have been killed since the offensive began, the army said in October.

Egypt has battled Islamic militants for years in the Sinai Peninsula in an insurgency that has occasionally spilled over to the mainland, targeting minority Christians or tourists.
