Floyd Mayweather Flaunts Payday To Destroy Tenshin Nasukawa

Undefeated kickboxer Nasukawa, who had vowed to "take down Mayweather" was left in tears in the ring but was hailed by his opponent, who claimed on Instagram he will earn $9million for the bout.

U.S. boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr (L) knocks down Kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa of Japan (C) during their exhibition match at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama on December 31, 2018.

Mayweather's declaration might disappoint those who were hoping he'd return to the ring to fight UFC superstar Khabib Nurmagomedov or fellow ageing boxer Manny Pacquiao. "I'm still retired - I don't look forward to coming back to boxing but I wanted to do this to entertain the fans in Japan". Tokyo, Japan you guys are fantastic I want to say thank you.

The American said in quotes published by BBC Sport: "It was all about entertainment - we had a lot of fun".

The fight, which was held in Saitama, Japan, was scheduled to last for three rounds but Mayweather quickly swept aside his opponent.

Nasukawa lands a straight left on Mayweather after Mayweather misses a straight right.

Nasukawa wasn't allowed to use kicks throughout the match and Mayweather would be paid an astonishing $69 million for competing in a mere three round contest.

Mayweather said: "Tenshin is still undefeated". After the third knockdown, Nasukawa's team threw in the towel, giving Mayweather the easy victory. I'm still retired and this was just entertainment. Mayweather's boxing record stands at 50-0.

But Nasukawa never landed a meaningful punch.

As for Nasukawa, he remains 28-0 in kickboxing and 4-0 in MMA, seemingly with a bright future ahead of him. "He is a great champion and a great fighter".
