Warren Launches Bid for 2020 Presidential Nomination

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren essentially kicked off her 2020 presidential campaign on Monday, announcing an exploratory committee - a formal step toward seeking the Democratic nomination for president in 2020 - along with outlining a pitch to voters. In 2016, many progressive groups urged her to run for president and her hometown newspaper the Boston Globe even ran an editorial arguing that "Democrats need Elizabeth Warren's voice in 2016 presidential race".

Warren enters a Democratic field that's shaping up as the most crowded in decades, with many of her Senate colleagues openly weighing their own campaigns, as well as governors, mayors and other prominent citizens.

The Massachusetts senator argued that modern government is working against the promise of America, which she described as "if you work hard and play by the rules, you ought to be able to take care of yourself and the people you love". Warren said she was forming an exploratory committee, which will allow her to raise money for a campaign and hire people for staff positions.

"Senator Warren couldn't be more out of touch", McDaniel said.

If she runs as an anti-billionaire populist champion of the little guy, doesn't Bernie Sanders already fill that ideological space in the Democratic Party? On December 31, Warren announced an exploratory committee for a 2020 presidential run.

To the surprise of no one, Sen.

As a professor, she provided the intellectual basis for a consumer protection watchdog, which under legislation passed in 2010 became the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Crystal Palace shock defending champions Manchester City in English Premier League
Palace did go on to win the game 3-2 with a further goal from Luka Milivojevic in the second half, who made it 3-1. In City's stunning home loss to Crystal Palace , Andros Townsend scored an outrageous goal for the visitors.

Formerly a professor of law at Harvard, the MA senator is considered to be on the liberal wing of the Democrat Party. It was clearly an attempt to put to rest an old controversy that had dogged her dating back to her 2012 campaign, when her past claim to Native American heritage was cast by Republicans as an attempt to obtain unwarranted Affirmative Action. After Trump started referring to her as "Pocahontas", she took a DNA test in October.

Since her re-election to the Senate in November, Warren has made hundreds of calls to political grassroots leaders in the early states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada, the source said. They are separate and intentionally different than filing one's candidacy and common early on in presidential primaries.

In a video address posted on social media on Monday, the progressive MA senator outlined her vision for a United States that she said would offer opportunities to all Americans.

Warren considered running for president in 2016 but ultimately decided against it.

Born in Oklahoma City, Warren was the first member of her family to graduate from college after completing high school at age 16.

The Cherokee Nation responded to the results at the time by arguing that "a DNA test is useless to determine tribal citizenship".
