After 16 seasons, Marvin Lewis is out in Cincinnati

Browns coach Hue Jackson was sacked in October, and longtime Packers coach Mike McCarthy was let go earlier this month.

"I want to thank the Bengals' organization, the fans and the city of Cincinnati for their support", Lewis said in the statement. That's a significant decline from the previous two seasons under Gary Kubiak, when the Broncos went 21-11 in the regular season and won a Super Bowl.

Basically, if Jackson ever gets a head coaching job again, you'd think it would have to come after a few years of strong work as some sort of high-ranking assistant.'Or it could come next season, if a certain outgoing Cincinnati Bengals coach has his way.

The Dolphins finished 7-9 this season, and in three years under Gase, they went 23-25.

The Bengals have fired coach Marvin Lewis, ending a 16-year stay in Cincinnati that included a record five straight playoff appearances without so much as one win. "I regret I haven't been able to provide them with the No. 1 goal of being world champions". Lewis is leaving with a 131-122-3 record and is leaving with the most playoff wins but the dark cloud is the 8-26 record against major rival The Pittsburg Steelers.

Bomb strikes tourist bus near Egypt's Giza Pyramids
Two tourists killed, ten others were injured in a tourist bus explosion in Marioteya district, near Giza governorate on Friday. But that figure was still far short of the record influx in 2010 when over 14 million visitors flocked see the country's sites.

Lewis had been in the job for 16 years, the longest tenure in franchise history.

Gase got off to a promising start when the Dolphins went 10-6 and clinched a playoff berth in his first season, though things soured after last year's 6-10 mark and only got worse this season.

On some level, Lewis's 2018 season was doomed right when the Bengals seemed to be in the thick of the race. Though Cincinnati finished a disappointing 6-10 this year, the second-longest-tenured coach in the National Football League did appear to have a job for life.

No announcements have been made as who will take the permanent head coaching position for the Bengals.
