Ocasio-Cortez campaign fined by feds

Some lawmakers who have working relationships with Ocasio-Cortez are hoping to coax her into using her huge platform to unite Democrats and turn her fire on Republicans, instead, Politico reported.

Last week, a conservative activist released an old video of Ocasio-Cortez dancing in college, apparently in an homage to the '80s classic The Breakfast Club, in an effort to humiliate the newly-sworn-in Congresswoman.

The effort, described by almost 20 lawmakers and aides, is part carrot, part stick: Some lawmakers with ties to Ocasio-Cortez are hoping to coax her into using her star power to unite Democrats and turn her fire on Republicans.

Lieberman also had specific criticism of Rep. Ocasio-Cortez's plan to raise taxes on the wealthy.

According to Politico, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) said, "I'm sure Ms. Cortez means well, but there's nearly an outstanding rule: Don't attack your own people".

According to the NYDN, a "Democratic campaign veteran scoffed that "it's not a great look" for Ocasio-Cortez that her campaign received a fine for not carrying workers' compensation coverage".

Still, it's pretty clear that this is Jackson's team going forward , meaning the Joe Flacco era has come to an end. There was even a chant for Flacco , the former Super Bowl MVP who was on the sideline as Jackson's backup.

Just kidding, she'll keep on plugging away on the exact social and environmental reforms she has been, which will ultimately do more to save us than Joe Lieberman ever did.

Meanwhile, Jessica Proud, spokeswoman for the New York State GOP, said: "Hypocrisy at its finest".

"She needs to decide: Does she want to be an effective legislator or just continue being a Twitter star?" said an anonymous House Democrat in the Politico report, who said he agrees with her radical ideology.

Ocasio-Cortez's plan would start applying the 70 per cent rate after the first $10 million. I think she has matured.

A spokesman for the campaign told the New York Daily News that the campaign had nothing to say.

The New York democratic socialist would be a thorn in the side of Wall Street, which has seen its regulatory burden lowered since Donald Trump became president.
