NY woman trapped in elevator rescued by FDNY after three days

The townhouse is located on East 65th Street, and the 53-year-old woman is an employee who got stuck while cleaning on Friday.

According to a Stephens family statement, she was dehydrated but is now in a stable condition at a private medical centre in NY.

A woman was rescued on Monday after being trapped in the elevator of a billionaire's Manhattan townhouse for an entire weekend.

The employee was only discovered when the homeowners returned home yesterday after spending a weekend away, the New York Times reports.

The house is owned by Warren Stephens, the chief executive of the investment bank Stephens.

Israel launches airstrikes on Iranian forces in Syria
Syria's air defense systems repelled an Israeli air attack in the country's south, the SANA news agency reported on Sunday. Syria's Pantsir and Buk air defense missile systems were used to shoot down Israeli rockets and knocked out seven of them.

She was rescued by firefighters who responded to an emergency call at 10am on Monday and forced the lift open.

Fortaliza is employed as a house-cleaner for billionaire investor Warren Stephens, and was taking care of his NY home while he was away on an extended business trip.

In records obtained by the news agency, the elevator she was stuck in was last serviced in July 2018. "The Stephens family is relieved and thankful that she is doing well in the hospital", a spokesperson said.

Why no one noticed the Defect of the Elevator and the alarm button didn't work, will now be examined.

The New York City Department of Buildings said they are investigating the incident, though they still haven't determined the cause of the elevator's malfunction.
