A smaller, cheaper Nintendo Switch might be coming this year

The good news is that Nintendo will bring Dr. Mario to your phone in a new game called Dr. Mario World.

Yes, that's right, 1990 classic Dr. Mario found players matching various falling tiles.

The report also notes that Nintendo plans to launch a more expensive online service in 2019.

South Korean developer, publisher, and distributor, NHN Entertainment, has partnered with Nintendo to create the title, that's due for a global release this summer.

Guardiola refuses to throw in the towel after Newcastle defeat
The home side got off to the flawless start when Sadio Mane put them ahead after only two minutes, but they failed to capitalise. The Clarets doubled their lead 30 minutes later with a header by an unmarked Chris Wood from a cross by Ashley Westwood.

Nintendo shares lost 29 percent of their value previous year as investors questioned the Switch's ability to appeal beyond hardcore gamers and the strength of the games pipeline.

However, Super Mario Run and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp didn't quite live up to the expectations of fans. Two other titles still in-development for mobile from Nintendo include Mario Kart Tour, set to arrive this summer, and a Legend of Zelda game which was announced in 2017. Originally, the game was supposed to be released next month. Inverse to this recent rumor, Wall Street Journal Japan reported a year ago that Nintendo was discussing a new version of Switch that would upgrade the system's low-end LCD display and could arrive in the second half of 2019.

"While it's true demand fell more than we expected, for children playing for the first time the 3DS is light and has an advantage in price terms", Furukawa said.

One of the smaller details from Nintendo's financial results yesterday is that their console business accounts for 92% of all their revenues, and that everything else - including mobile apps - is just a minor extra.
