Trump addresses criticism of intelligence officials: 'I don't always agree with everybody'

US President Donald Trump has called top US intelligence chiefs "extremely passive and naive", even suggesting they "should go back to school". "And I think it only proves something that troubles me deeply, is that this President is someone that doesn't want to learn".

They were initially expected to meet in the border truce village of Panmunjom, but instead they settled on Pyongyang since that will speed things up now only four weeks remain until the summit. They are wrong!" Trump tweeted, adding: "Be careful of Iran. "Perhaps Intelligence should go back to school!".

He also said that the US was willing to take parallel steps to improve relations with North Korea, but sanctions and pressure also appeared to be a key and a remaining element of their approach.

Kim has made no commitments to let North Korea's arsenal be inspected or dismantled since agreeing to "work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula" in his first meeting with Trump in June past year.

He pledged that once North Korea was denuclearised the United States was prepared to explore with it, and other countries, the best way to mobilize investment there. He said in another tweet that they were "all on the same page".

Back in December 2018, Trump also suddenly announced that the U.S. would be withdrawing its troops from Syria, having declared victory over Daesh.

The war ended with an armistice and North Korea has long sought a formal treaty. I look forward to seeing Kim Jong Un shortly.

"We continue to assess that Iran is not now undertaking the key nuclear-weapons-development activities we judge necessary to produce a nuclear device", Coats said in testimony accompanying the USA intelligence community's Worldwide Threat Assessment.

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha said North Korea could show its commitment to denuclearisation by shutting its Yongbyon complex and allowing worldwide inspections to confirm that.

In an open session before the Senate intelligence committee on Tuesday, Haspel said Iran is now complying with the terms of the Iran nuclear deal, which Trump has called a foreign policy disaster.

Speaking about intelligence agencies generally, Trump added: "I have great respect for a lot people but I don't always agree with everybody". Caliphate will soon be destroyed, unthinkable two years ago. "Iran is a big threat, and I think I did the right thing when I terminated the ridiculous Iran deal", the president said.

"Iran is not now undertaking the key nuclear weapons-development activities we judge necessary to produce a nuclear device", it read.

Rep. Adam Schiff, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, tweeted Wednesday that the president's approach to his intelligence leaders and the intelligence they present is unsafe. He met with Haspel, Coats, and Deputy Director of National Intelligence Edward Gistaro in the Oval Office that afternoon, tweeting a picture of their conversation. They don't play politics with national security - ever. "This does our adversaries' work for them".

Former CIA Director John Brennan said the president is revealing his "intellectual bankruptcy".

She also accompanied her brother to the U.S.

"All Americans, especially members of Congress, need to understand the danger you pose to our national security."

And finally, Trump does not consider ISIS as much of a threat as it used to be before his presidency, despite apprehensions from the intelligence community. The public event was followed by a closed-door hearing.
