Pelicans’ Anthony Davis listed as questionable to play vs. Bulls

Davis is not expected to play with the trade deadline looming.

Joel Embiid scored 14 of his game-high 37 points in the fourth quarter to help the Sixers cut a 21-point deficit to seven points with 3:47 left to play, but Philadelphia would get no closer.

JaVale McGee had 16 points for the Lakers, who have lost two straight and six of their last eight. Not only would they secure Davis for the rest of this season and next, but they'd also prevent the Boston Celtics from having a shot at trading for the star big man. Los Angeles is one of Davis' preferred destinations, and the club already reportedly offered a package of Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Lance Stephenson, Rajon Rondo, and Michael Beasley in hopes of landing him.

A trade that effects the end-of-bench players, guys like Brad Wanamaker, Guerschon Yabusele or Semi Ojeleye, won't make or break the Celtics in terms of team success.

European nations back Venezuelan opposition leader
Over the weekend, he called on the army to allow in humanitarian aid from the United States via neighboring Colombia and Brazil. The 14-nation Lima Group - made up of Canada and Latin American countries - meets in Ottawa on Monday.

A market for Davis gets bigger during the offseason as the Celtics can not make a deal for Davis this season because the Pelicans' All-Star and Boston guard Kyrie Irving both signed a rookie max contract and teams are not allowed to have two of those players on a roster at once.

Bringing Davis to the Lakers to play alongside LeBron James would give the team another major two-man combination in their history of success with such duos as Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson and Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry West. However, the Celtics can (and quite possibly will) make a deal this summer once Irving either re-signs on a new deal or departs for a new start elsewhere. Irving, 26, previously said he planned to re-sign with the Celtics in the summer but has recently wavered in public on that promise. The league's landscape is certainly feeling the tremors of the campaign by Paul and Davis. However, it's not the first time National Basketball Association fans have heard that chant during a game.

"They wanted more and more and more", one person said. Davis "liked" the trade proposal on a Bleacher Report Instagram post. Several rival GMs believe that New Orleans could use the Lakers' final offer at the deadline as the baseline for offers in the offseason.

It's been an interesting few months for Boston and the shift in the locker room vibe became noticeable once Davis made his trade request. Maybe, but for now it sounds like the Lakers are officially out of the Anthony Davis race.
