Isis bride 'should be tried in the Middle East'

But on Tuesday, Ms Dick said: "I've read very carefully what the Assistant Commissioner and the Commissioner said, it was very carefully caveated on the basis of what was known then".

However, she insisted she had never wanted to become the "poster girl" for Isis and supports "some British values".

The fate of foreigners who joined Islamic State has become an increasingly urgent issue as USA -backed fighters prepare to capture the militant group's last stronghold in eastern Syria.

It's unclear how Begum is trying to get home.

She said she has appealed to the government to help get her back to the United Kingdom.

She was partly inspired by videos of fighters beheading hostages and partly by other propaganda films showing the "good life" IS could offer. In a recent interview with The Times newspaper, Begum said she had previously lost two babies to illness and malnutrition.

Because, I feel she needs a chance maybe to explain what was going on.

In a handwritten letter released by Shibly, Muthana wrote that she made "a big mistake" by rejecting her family and friends in the United States to join the Islamic State.

Warriors’ Kevin Durant calls winning All-Star Game MVP ‘special’
After having to come back from as many as 20 points, Team LeBron out lasted Team Giannis , 178-164, to win the NBA All-Star game. He's defending and scoring at a high level, and even defended more than most in the All-Star Game where zero defense is played.

Shamima Begum, who yesterday gave birth to a son and begged to return to the United Kingdom, was one of a group of schoolgirls from Bethnal Green who went to Syria to marry IS fighters in 2015. It's one thing to kill a soldier that is firing at you, it's self-defence, but to kill people like women and children, just like the women and children in Baghuz (Syria) that are being killed right now unjustly by the bombings.

The initial police stance when Ms Begum left the United Kingdom in 2015 was that she may be treated as a victim of grooming, but the Scotland Yard chief said on Tuesday: "We're a long way down the road since then".

"These ISIS brides are as unspeakable as those ugly women who write love letters to notorious serial killers in prison. I was self-taught and thought whatever I read, it was right". Everything I've been through, you know.

Begum's efforts to return to the United Kingdom have sparked controversy, with Home Secretary Sajid Javid claiming he will try to block those who have joined Islamic State from being allowed back in.

"He has no proof that I was a threat other than that I was in Isis, that's it. I don't understand what's going on there", he added. Among the general public too there has been a chorus of calls for the lack of mercy shown to Isis victims to be extended to Begum and her newborn son.

"Actually jumping on a plane at 15 to go to Syria".

United Kingdom authorities now face the hard question of what to do if Ms Begum manages to return to Britain.

Her family's lawyer, Tasnime Akunjee, said he anticipated she would face criminal proceedings upon any return to the UK.
