Apple falls out with New York Times

Apple is anticipated to launch both a subscription TV and video service, and has been in the news for signing deals with content providers as well as producing its own original shows. The service, which launches Monday, is available in the USA and Canada in English and French.

The iPhone has always been Apple's marquee product and main money maker, but sales are starting to decline.

This time around, Apple announced new products including new iPad Mini and long-awaited AirPods 2 through press releases. Apple's App Store, where the service is likely to be distributed, is now available in more than 100 countries.

Apple has been hinting at the unveiling of its new video strategy, but next week we will get a better look at it.

Over the last couple of years, Apple has been grappling with slowdown in iPhone sales, especially in its key markets such as India and China.

Now the biggest powerhouse in the media-entertainment world, Walt Disney Company will be launching its Disney+ streaming service this year. The tech giant has gathered a plethora of talent to take on household names like Netflix and Amazon.

Pompeo to visit Western Wall with Netanyahu in break with diplomatic practice
President Donald Trump withdrew past year from the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers and reimposed sanctions. Israel captured the Golan Heights from Syria during the Six-Day War of 1967 and formally annexed the territory in 1981.

The lack of an app on non-Apple devices, including Android phones and Windows computers, could limit Apple's financial gains from the move. One of the most exciting factors of the event is that Apple's video service that is a long-rumored concept will also be unveiled at the spring event. "Not everyone will see these options and we may never roll out these specific plans beyond the tests", a Netflix spokesperson said.

A monthly digital subscription to the New York Times costs $15, and Thompson said he has no plans to give that up to participate on other platforms such as Apple's.

The streaming service will offer exclusive content from famous filmmakers like JJ Abrams, Steven Spielberg and M. Night Shyamalan, and was announced alongside Apple Card, Apple News+ and Apple Arcade.

Apple Arcade will be available sometime "this fall", according to the company, with pricing and other details still to come. All these announcements in less than two weeks have ensured that the new hardware products have been pushed out the door before the March 25 event.

Subscribers can choose to pay £7.99 a month for the full Prime service which includes faster parcel delivery and access to Prime Music, or pay £5.99 for just Prime Video. It will be a premium subscription plan on the Apple News app. It will include access to more than 200 magazines as well as newspapers like The Wall Street Journal. Its efforts to introduce a television service have also been well-documented; it's probably the worst-kept secret at Apple.
